Epidermolytic hyperkeratosis
Epidermolytic hyperkeratosis is an autosomal dominant trait characterized by diffuse palmoplantar keratoderma.
Histologically, there is epidermal vacuolation, which separates it from non-epidermolytic hyperkeratosis of the Unna-Thost type.
There may be an association with an increased tendency towards internal malignant neoplasm but this has not been well established.
Treatment:
- Oral retinoids have been associated with palliation, but not cure.
