After having a severe case of cystic acne, I have deep scars that I would like to get rid of. What are some treatment options?

I have fair skin and 19 years old.

Hello, considering you have fair skin we recommend trying a laser called Fraxel skin rejuvenation. Fraxel helps stimulate collagen in the area needed, helping rebuild the skin. Depending on how deep the scars are will determine how many sessions will be needed for this treatment. You would need to consult with a professional in order to be evaluated.

Laser resurfasing can help with scarring, as well as microneedling with prp (platelets).
This may help with some scarring.

Deep acne scars are textural damage to the skin. We would recommend the Fraxel Repair treatment for best results.

You may need a combination of laser treatments and micro needling treatments. The micro needling has really worked well for scar revision but it takes multiple treatments. This procedure breaks up the scar tissue and encourages collagen stimulation as well. We are using this on surgical scars as well as stretch marks and have seen fabulous results.

We would use the Cynosure Icon Laser to treat the area. Depending on the scars we would recommend a package of about three treatments , each spaced a month apart. I would suspect that would give us pretty good results upon month four.

There are quite a few options. If you have deep scars and light fair skin then I would recommend getting the fractional C02 laser (has best result). It has the ability to literally melt some of the scar tissue away. Mostly likely you will need to do 2-3 treatments. To be a candidate for this you will have to have your acne under control.
