Will the dark brown spots that appear after Fotofacial/IPL treatments go away?

I had my first fotofacial treatment last night and the brown spots are very dark and coming to the surface. What I was wondering is will these stay this way until more treatments are performed or will some of them slough off?

Brown spots normally get darker after light based treatments (IPL or
laser treatment). The cells that contain the pigment are destroyed and
rise to the surface as our skin reproduces. They then slough off (very
light flaking like wax paper) as you noted in a period of about 1-3
weeks.

The dark spots are normal and that's the reaction you should expect from a
properly performed Fotofacial. The dark spots will begin to slough off over
the next few days. You can assist them along after 72 hours or so with
gentle exfoliation.

This is exactly the reaction you are hoping for with the IPL. The
light energy from the IPL is absorbed more by the pigmentation than
the surrounding skin. The pigmentation will then darken up and slough
off. This can last for 1 to 2 weeks. It is usually faster on facial
skin than on other areas of the body.

The brown spots after Photofacial (if you get them) will come off shortly or after the next few treatments.

Not everyone gets these spots.
