This is a common problem that is exacerbated by the lower temperatures and reduced ambient humidity that occurs during the winter months. Lip-licking is frequently a contributing factor to this problem and certainly exacerbates it if it is pre-existing. Lips that have sustained significant alteration due to the effects of cumulative (decades) sun exposure are more likely to display this problem.

Petrolatum (Vaseline, Aquaphor) provides a protective coating to the lips and reduces the evaporative loss of moisture that such lips sustain. A mild corticosteroid ointment can be prescribed by your physician if this problem does not resolve.

I'm 30 years old. It's been like this since December 2016. I saw a doctor in April 2017 (before I realized the connection between sugar & the outbreaks) who took pictures and sent them to a dermatologist, and eventually prescribed Dermovate, saying that it may be eczema or dermatitis. While Dermovate helps with the sores & blisters, it doesn't explain why this happens if I eat the foods I mentioned. Nobody else in the house has this reaction eating the same foods.

My lips were smaller and regular when i was smaller. But I am 16 and they are bigger, which was "normal to most doctors" but I don't believe so. Also they are constantly chapped and bleeding, with tons of wrinkles. What kind of help do I need to get?

I have a wart on my finger. I tried to use a wart remover pad but it didn’t work. Now the skin around the wart has redness and pain. I’m not sure if this is because I replaced the pad every day instead of every 48 hours. Due to COVID-19, I don’t want to go to the clinic at this moment. So, I’d like to know if it’s ok not to go to see a doctor until 2 or 3 months later. Thank you very much! ^_^
