Which procedure should I consider if I am looking to correct the enlarged pores on my nose, sun damage spots on cheeks & forehead, and a few scattered red spots across my face? Thank you in advance!
The 1540 fractional laser does a great job for large pores, wrinkles and fine lines. I'd have to recommend the intense pulsed laser (IPL) for the sun damage and the vascular red spots.

Palomar intense pulse light (IPL) photofacial is a very effective light base device to reduce hyperpigmentation, redness and enlarged pores. Clinical studies show 5 treatments, 3 weeks apart, no numbing needed, minimal downtime and maintenance a few times a year. Home care products are always recommended to help keep the skin issues reduced and to improve the conditions. We also have sublative laser that is recommended for texture and may reduce hyperpigmentation.

There are many different types of fractional resurfacing procedures and it's more about how you do the procedure than the technology. Deep resurfacing (more than 300-400 microns) will lead to the best results for pore size and small acne scars. The procedure is not designed to remove red marks or sun damage but you may see some improvement on those issues. If not, consider pulsed dye or q-switched lasers. Good luck.
