Much depends on the depth of the acne scars and your skin type. We have had considerable success using EndyMed (micro needling and radiofrequency) combined with PRP (platelet rich plasma). This seems to signal the skin to repair itself rather than depending on methods that simply disguise the problem.

If you are light skinned, the fractional laser is the best treatment for acne. that's not to say there are not other lasers that can treat acne, there are, but generally they are more ablative and require more downtime (weeks) after treatment.
None of the above is not intended as medical advice. If you have a medical concern, please consult your doctor.

It depends on the type of scars you have, but I find the IPL Photofacial very useful in treating acne scars. This is a non-invasive no down time laser.

There is not necessarily one "best" option as different methods of treatment are often combined to produce the best results. For example, with textured (bumpy) acne scars we often find it works well for patients to have punch excision or subcision before finishing with laser resurfacing. The combination of derm surgery and laser treatments seems
to work well. Here are a few options to look into for both bumpy and pigmented acne scars.

For Textured (bumpy) Acne Scars:

CO2 Laser Resurfacing (full laser resurfacing and fractional laser resurfacing)
Erbium Laser resurfacing
Fractional Laser Resurfacing
Punch Excision (Derm surgery)
Subcision (Derm Surgery)
Dermabrasion (Derm Surgery)

For Pigmented (brown or red) Acne Scars:

Pulsed Dye Laser Treatments (red scars)
Hydroquinone Bleaching programs (dark acne scars)
Chemical Peels (dark acne scars)
Q-switched Laser Treatments (dark acne scars)
