Can dermabrasion cause melasma?
I had a dermabrasion treatment that left dark markings on my cheeks. How can I correct it and get my skin back to normal?

Hormonal changes are the principle cause of melasma. While not very common, microdermabrasion can aggravate the condition, as can sun exposure and exposure to chemicals. Dark markings can also be hyperpigmentation, which is a condition that usually will resolve over a few weeks to months. If not, skin lighteners can be used to help fade the dark spots.

My skin reacts negatively to anything that I touch. If i slightly scratch it or my clothes rub onto my skin, it swells up and itches like crazy. My skin rises and tuns red wherever I have scratched. This often happens on my face as well. I wanted to try dermabrasion but given my skin irritation issues, would that be a good idea?
