If you suffer from facial veins you can dramatically improve your appearance and your life through a number of treatment options.

Electrosurgery

This type of treatment uses a hand-held needle device that emits a high-frequency electrical current to target the problem veins and destroy them. Patients commonly experience a tolerated level of discomfort during the treatment and after the procedure is complete, a tiny scab will form which should quickly heal in the days ahead.

Pulsed Dye Laser

This is a non-invasive treatment that utilizes a stream of gentle, yellow bursts of light that penetrate the blood vessels deep within the skin. The laser works to heat up the targeted veins and obliterates them without damaging surrounding tissue. The vein is eventually reabsorbed by the body and dissolves on its own. Patients normally require 1-3 treatments on four to eight week intervals.

Intense Pulsed Light Therapy

Broadband pulses of light are used in this treatment to target vascular problems from deep inside the dermal layers. Dilated veins are slowly dissipated over the course of 3-5 treatments every 4-6 weeks. The end result is a softer, more even skin tone. Because intense pulsed light therapy is a non-ablative procedure, the top layers of the skin are left unharmed during the treatment and the majority of patients can immediately resume their normal activities the same day.

Keep in mind that while these treatments can eliminate your facial veins, they can't prevent new veins from developing. It is important to have realistic expectations about your procedure and anticipate the likelihood of new facial veins appearing in the future.
