How Skin Tyte Is Performed

Skin Tyte is a non invasive skin treatment procedure used to tighten the sagging skin with the help of light energy. A broadband light is used for providing safe infrared light energy, which can selectively act on the collagen below the skin’s surface. At the same time, the epidermis (the outer layer of the skin) is kept cool to minimize the injury and pain. Skin gets tightened as the collagen gets partially coagulated and contracted.

Skin Tyte treatment can be done for the entire face or body in order to improve the appearance of aged skin and reduce the sun damage. Patches of redness and flushing in the neck and face can also be decreased by this infrared light energy. It is safe to be used on all types of skin that looks aged and photo damaged. Following is the step-by-step procedure of Skin Tyte treatment.

Step 1: Consult a Therapist

You have to find a dermatologist who is experienced in treating skin using the Skin Tyte procedure. Discuss and gather more information about the procedure, its nature, precautions to be taken and the after effects of the procedure. In order to have practical expectations, go through the before and after pictures of the patients who have undergone treatment. Fix a date for your treatment. If you have blisters or skin infections like Herpes simplex, then the treatment has to be done only after it heals.

Step 2: Prepare for Treatment

Just before the treatment, you have to wash and remove all facial make-up, lotions, creams or ointments from the areas to be treated. Men have to shave the previous day.

Step 3: Protect Skin

Eyes have to be protected by wearing goggles or an eye shield. A soothing gel is applied to the skin that needs to be treated so that it can reduce the pain and discomfort caused during the infrared light procedure.

Step 4: Light Treatment

A series of safe and gentle pulsed infrared light energy is passed onto the areas to be treated. There is a special equipment to produce these beams of light. Heat energy will build up below the outer layer of your skin to energize collagen while the epidermis is kept cool at a proper temperature. This will ensure that skin does not get damaged by the built-up heat energy. Energized collagen will coagulate and then contract, thereby resulting in skin tightening. It may take around 45 minutes to treat one area of your skin.

Step 5: Review

After the procedure, you have to get a review of the results of Skin Tyte treatment. Depending on the amount of photo damage, additional treatment sessions will be advised by the dermatologist. You may require 2 to 5 sessions of treatment for optimum results. But successive sessions can be done at an interval of 3 to 4 weeks.

Though this procedure can tighten your skin faster without down time and surgery, precautions have to be taken prior to the treatment, especially if your skin is sensitive.
