Laser hair removal is a little uncomfortable. If it is too uncomfortable I
lower the power settings for my patients. Probably upper lip and armpits are
the most uncomfortable.

Laser hair removal does involve some pain or discomfort. The issue is that every person is different so what is painful for one person is minor for another. Laser hair removal can best be described as rubber band snaps on the skin or hot pin pricks. This feeling is necessary to
make sure the base of the hair follicle is heated to a temperature necessary to close the small blood vessels that feed the hair, thereby leading to PERMANENT hair removal. If the treatment does not involve some discomfort, we would worry about it being permanent.
