Can microdermabrasion eliminate my acne scars?

I've heard microdermabrasion can't correct deep, uneven scarring. I'm a fair-skinned brunette. My skin, though oily, is very smooth thanks to RX creams. However, I am left with light pinks scars on my face. Can microdermabrasion eliminate this, or is another procedure best?

Hi, have you tried pigment correction products yet? And keep in mind that hydraquinone only works on brown spots. We use Lytera 2.0 by SkinMedica in our office due to the fact it works on all types of pigmentation including red/pink scarring. I would recommend trying that coupled with your Rx products and a good SPF for a minimum of 12 weeks. Chemical peels may be an option too.

Microdermabrasion should help minimize, if not eliminate, your acne scars.

Microdermabrasion is a mild treatment. There are more aggressive treatments (mainly laser options) that are better for deep scars. Discuss this with an MD or dermatologist.
