Can IPL affect a baby's eyes if they are in the room?
I had an intense pulsed light (IPL) treatment done on my face to clear up some freckles. The treatment was performed on Friday afternoon and my baby who was in the room now has watery eyes, has been really irritable day and night, and won't sleep. Could the light have affected her eyes?

No. IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) emits very bright flashes of visible light. It is like a camera flash in terms of its short pulse. Without the light being directed shined into the eyes at a close distance, there is no risk of any eye damage. The watery eyes should not be related to having been present in the same room as the IPL treatment administered.
