Deep FX is a CO2 laser resurfacing procedure that penetrates
the layer of skin containing collagen and elastin (the dermis). This layer is
also where wrinkles develop. By piercing
this level of the skin, the laser is able to repair deep wrinkles and lines, as
well as treat acne scars and scars caused by surgery or trauma.
Performed in an office, deep FX can take up to 90 minutes to
complete. Because the dermis is being treated, and this is the layer that
contains pain and touch receptors, the patient may experience a sensation
similar to sunburn. For this, an oral sedative or topical anesthetics will be
placed on the skin to help the patient deal with discomfort caused by the
procedure. Aftercare instructions will be given to the patient and he or she will
be scheduled for a follow-up appointment so that the skin can be assessed.
Overall, deep FX is intended to improve the skin in the
following ways:
·
- Tighten and lift eyelid skin
·
- Smooth and tighten facial skin

Depending on the condition of your skin, several sessions
may be necessary to achieve the patient’s desired results. Deep FX is effective
on its own, but may be used with other cosmetic procedures. Read More
