Definition of Dandruff
Dandruff, by definition, is simply a condition of the skin of the scalp that causes white flakes of dead skin cells to flake off into the hair and often onto your shoulders. A diet high in sugars, fat, starches and general improper nutrition can lead to dandruff.
Dandruff, which is just a skin condition that causes white flakes (dead skin cells) to shed from the scalp is common, but can be prevented usually. Simple lifestyle, diet and hygiene changes can prevent dandruff. You can also prevent dandruff by avoiding the overuse of hair products.
Unfortunately, some people are hereditarily predisposed to dandruff and may need to seek medical assistance in order to get prescription treatments for this mild skin condition.
