In our practice the Palomar 1540 has provided excellent results for scars & acne scars however no long term studies proving the duration of the results have been done. It's "thought" that as collagen is remodeled in the area(s) treated that the results will gradually diminish over time much as in the normal aging process. Most patients require 4 sessions although depending on the severity up to 6 or more treatments may be required.

I know Palomar fraction resurfacing helps patients who have melasma, but I wasn't sure if it could be used to treat sun damaged lesions.
