Yes, Thermage is effective on older patients, but there is a new topical treatment that has shown dramatic improvement for older patients with severe wrinkles. It is called Defenage. It tricks the skin into thinking it has been damaged; for example, by a Thermage or a Co2 laser treatment. It stimulates stem cells in the narrow part of the hair follicles, which causes the skin to begin repairing itself. We sell it in our office, but I think you can find it online.

Thermage is a pretty old technology and very uncomfortable. Ultherapy is the newer technology, but depending on the laxity of the skin, effectiveness is determined. You may want to consult a plastic surgeon as well, based on the age of the patient.
