Is it safe to have a facelift while Dermal Fillers are still taking effect?

Normally, patients would have a face lift first and then do fillers for areas not addressed by the facelift.
More specifically, however, which dermal fillers are you referring to? For example, if you had sculptra injected and then you had a face lift in that area then you might be interfering with the original intent of the sculptrabecause the sculptra was injected into that specific area so it can grow over time and if you had a surgical procedure there then it may look off. But for other dermal fillers such as Restylane or Juvederm, there should not be any problems with having a face lift.

This question should most likely be posed to the physician performing the facelift. Because the incision points for the facelift are generally not in the same areas as the dermal filler injections, we do not think the fillers would present a problem. At the same time, your
surgeon may want to perform your facelift while you have no fillers just so he/she can easily see the natural contours of the face without the fillers. Ask your surgeon for their preference.
