I had Juvederm injected into my lips four days ago, why have they gone back to normal so quickly? Could it be from smoking?

Your question is difficult to answer because of lack of information, but I will give you a few thoughts. First of all, be sure and look at the before-and-after pictures and make sure you're seeing what's there. Secondly, first time Juvederm users can metabolize the substance more quickly, but it is normally a couple of months, not four days. Also, it depends on how much Juvederm was administered; if you used a small amount, obviously your lips could go back to normal faster. Smoking has been associated with many negative reactions to Juvederm, but nothing scientific. Smoking is a notorious causative factor for wrinkling on the area above upper lip With all the other negatives associated with smoking, I would strongly urge you to try not smoking, at least for a period after any future filler treatments on your lips.

Not certain why they reduced so quickly, but smoking will not help the lines and will actually exacerbate them.
