How young can you start getting chemical peels?

I am in my mid-twenties and I have the beginning signs of wrinkles. At what age is it appropriate to begin chemical peel treatments?

You can get a chemical peel at your age or even younger as a teenager. Many teenagers do the peels to treat acne problems. It is also a great way to keep your skin smooth and to stimulate collagen formation.

You will be okay to start light chemical peels at your age. Remember
though, that you need to take care of your skin at home as well as
with your skin care professional. You will need to use a good sunblock that protects against UVA and UVB rays on a daily basis. 80 to 90% of the skins aging process is exposure to the sun and tanning beds. I would also recommend that you use some form of exfoliation such as glycolic acid containing products. Your skin care professional will be able to help you choose what is right for you and your skin.

We actually use light chemical peels on teenagers for acne. If you are starting to show some wrinkling in you mid twenties it would be fine to start some light peels. Please remember to go to a Dermatologist or Plastic Surgeon's office for these treatments.

I started doing preventative treatments at the age of 21.

I have had VI peels, fractional laser treatments, botox and other procedures to help the tone, texture and overall appearance of my face. The sooner you start the better and the more cost effective it is. Once you have developed creases it is slightly more difficult to achieve a younger appearance.

You can start with monthly Vibradermabrasion treatments, chemical peels and IPL photo facials.

We offer complimentary consultations if you would like to come in and speak
with our medical team.
