It's very unlikely. Q-switched lasers like the Revlite are great at getting rid of tattoos, birthmarks, sun damage and other types of dark pigment on the skin. But the underarm area is very difficult. In some cases, it's because the patient is having irritation caused by shaving and, in this case, we recommend laser hair removal as a start. In other cases, the patient has hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating), and we recommend treatment for this first. Finally, for some patients, this is a genetic issue. Irrespective of why the condition has developed, we have never known a Q-switched laser to be able to solve it.
