Can I get a LED therapy treatment at a salon rather than a dermatologist?

I see many dermatologist are offering LED light therapy treatments. I have also noticed that salons are offering the same treatments. What is the difference besides cost? And is LED considered a laser treatment?

LED is not Laser. It will be better to go to a center with a Physician on staff.

LED's are not all the same and there are varying degrees of "light
frequency" that makes a difference in the efficacy of the treatment. If it
is exactly the same system in both brand and model number than it's ok to
receive the treatment at a lower price center. That said, even if it's the
same make and model has it been properly maintained and is it in good
working condition? Also is the unit properly cleaned after each treatment?

If you're satisfied on the above and you're not using any photo sensitive
treatments like Levulan than it's really your choice.
