For practical purposes, there is no evidence that Botox migrates from its injection site. Even if it did, it cannot cause the muscle paralysis of botulism that develops after accidental ingestion of botulinum toxin due to eating food contaminated with Clostridium botulinum. The doses of botulinum toxin during accidental ingestion is greater orders of magnitude that are injected for cosmetic purposes.

The answer is yes that Botox does have the ability to travel, but there
are two reasons why this issue should not concern you. The first is
that Botox normally travels a distance of less than an inch from the
muscle to which it is injected.

The second is that the Box Cosmetic is used in very small doses compared
to what would be considered toxic to the body.

Small amounts of botox needed to correct wrinkles only affect the
localized areas and do not migrate or travel to other areas. It will
not paralyze you.

If so how long? Is there any chance of permanent change?
