Can Botox cause facial fat to move?

My eye shape changed after I had Botox. They are now smaller and hold a very different shape. Are the changes permanent?

My eye shape has change for the worse. They look smaller with saggy lids after 12 units Botox in my forehead and temples. I've totally changed the shape of my eye shape and size. My eyes had an exotic look and now that's lost. I saw the change happen in my left eye first and now my right eye has caught up. my left eye also has extra sagging in the lid giving them a lopsided appearance.Will my cat eye like shape and size return? If so how long? Is there any chance of permanent change?

Botox is not associated with any alteration in fat and certainly not in the relocation of fat.

If the Botox is injected too low on the cheek it can make your cheek drop. This effect should be gone by now.

Botox does not move fat on the face, but it can and does affect the facial muscles. So, indirectly it's possible that if the muscles that control the cheek area when you smile were relaxed with Botox injections you had, they may appear lower. If this is the case, you would want to check the before and after pictures with your practitioner to confirm
the issue and also discuss how to avoid the problem in the future. This would most likely involve the injection locations (or Botox dilution) for your crow's feet.

It should be noted that after 6 months, the effects of Botox are usually gone, so if you are looking at something currently that you think was related to Botox 6 months ago, then this is probably not the case because the changes you describe (if they did occur) would have worn off with the Botox by now. Good luck.
