Liver spots are a commonly used name for sun or age spots and are caused by repeated exposure to the sun rather than having anything to do with your liver.

I do not believe they have anything to do with the liver; they are just liver-colored.

In today's terms, liver spots have nothing to do with the function of the liver. "Liver Spots" should be more correctly referred to as sun spots as they are caused by sun exposure. Historically, liver spots was thought to be a sign of liver injury but that has been proven incorrect.

Liver spots are named for their color, not source or function. They can be treated with IPL or BBL treatments that will fade them and cause them to flake off and disappear.

They have nothing to do with the liver. They are age/sun damage related. I think the term "liver spot" comes from the fact that the color of many of these spots is similar to the color of raw liver.

Liver spots have nothing to do with the liver. They got this name because they are the color of liver.
