"Several years ago my husband and I noticed our oldest daughter, Claudia, had a small bald spot. After going to a local dermatologist, we were referred to Dr. Poole. After a few months of applying medication a few times a day the spot was gone. Years later we found ourselves in a very similar situation. When playing dress up, we discovered our youngest daughter, Chase, had the same bald spots. Only this time instead of one spot, there were several large spots. Because of the location they were not easily noticed at first. As we brought her in for treatment we could only follow the advice and medication given. As the spots grew larger and began spreading quicker than we could treat them, her eye lashes and eye brows began to disappear. We decided to take the 45 minute commute and change doctors. Once again we found ourselves in Dr. Poole's office hoping for the best. My strong 8 year old started discussing wigs and other options with my husband and I. No matter how much she was questioned about her hair loss or teased by other children, she remained strong and stayed adamant that she did not want the option of injections. Dr. Poole understood and patiently supported her wishes. Chase has now been in treatment for one year. I am pleased to say not only her eye brows, but also her eye lashes are now growing back. As we continue treatment, she now only has one small spot remaining. While her health has never been in jeopardy, it has been extremely difficult watching what she has been through.
