How to Use a Skin Lightening Cream to Get Rid of Freckles

Swollen chapped lips can be a great source of discomfort. If you would like to solve the problem, there are a few solutions that are available for anyone. The solutions will focus on reducing the swelling and repairing the skin.

Lip Balm

Get a lip balm that will help repair the skin and reduce chapped lips. You may get different types of lip balm, but you may opt for a lip balm designed for sensitive lips. Use the lip balm whenever you go out or feel that your lips are not moist.

Hydrocortisone Cream

Hydrocortisone is a steroid that may be used topically and may have anti inflammatory effects. The cream should only be used if prescribed by a dermatologist and should have immediate effects.

Apply the cream according to the indications of the specialist, and if the swelling is not gone within 2 days, you need to check with your doctor to see if there is need for a different type of treatment.

Apply Compresses

In order to treat swollen chapped lips, you should apply lukewarm compresses. You should soak these compresses in soothing tea such as chamomile or get an aloe vera gels and apply it on the compresses. Use these compresses a few times per day, until you notice the lips are no longer swollen.

Don’t apply ice or cold compresses, as this could aggravate the problem.

Medication Treatment

If the swelling of the lips is severe, the dermatologist may prescribe some medication. You may get antihistamines, if the lips are swollen due to an allergic reaction, or antibiotics, if the lips are infected.
