What to Expect During Laser Liver Spot Removal

Sunburn is skin (living tissue) that has been damaged by prolonged exposure to UV rays without adequate protection. You can get burnt from UV rays from the sun and from artificial tanning booths.

The Phenomenon behind the Burn

Living tissue is susceptible to damage from UV rays from the sun. When the skin feels that it has been exposed to an excess of UV without protection, it will start to produce melanin, which will darken the skin in order to protect it from further damage. However, in excess, melanin cannot help the skin and the cells are damaged at a fundamental level, requiring new skin to be take the place of the damaged skin.

Side Effects

You may feel intense itching and pain after a burn from UV rays. The skin may be hot to the touch and irritate you with a tingling, burning sensation. You may get blisters and will find the skin peeling after a few days.

Sunburn does more than affect your skin. You may experience dizziness and fatigue as a result of a burn. In extreme cases, you may get sun poisoning, which can cause nausea, fever and dehydration.

If you suspect sun poisoning or extreme sunburn, you should seek medical attention. Otherwise, you can treat a burn with aloe vera, apple cider vinegar and/or lotion.
