Excessive sweating on your head is also called by its medical name of facial hyperhidrosis. This condition occurs because of increased stress, temperatures and stimulant intake. Sweating is a way that the body releases harmful toxins and chemicals from your body. It has many possible cures, some of which are changing your eating habits and daily routines.

Excessive sweating is a problem that many people face around the world, and it can be overcome with the proper treatment. There are two different types of hyperhidrosis, the first comes from overactive sweat glands and can most likely be at least temporarily taken care of with topical antiperspirants. The second is excessive head sweating brought about by an underlying medical condition, which may prove harder to cure. Some suggestions to help and possibly cure excessive head sweating are as follows:

1. Remove or Reduce Stimulant Intakes

Reducing or removing all together the amount of stimulants you put into your body can significantly reduce the amount of sweat you will have to deal with. Because your body reacts so heavily to stimulants, and sweating can be one of the reactions it has, removing them, in many cases, will help reduce the amount of sweat your body produces. Stimulants may come in the form of caffeine (found in soft drinks, coffee, chocolate and some medications), sugar and various drugs.

Other things that may contribute to excessive sweating are smoking and alcohol intake. Also avoid onions, garlic and spicy foods, which all increase heart rate, also lead to increased sweating.

2. Eat Healthy

Eating healthy can also help to significantly reduce sweating by calming the sympathetic nerves, which act as stimulants in sweat production. When your body is receiving a healthy, balanced diet, the nutrients that you miss out on with an unhealthy diet will help even out the body and its reactions that cause excessive sweating. Specific herbs can also be taken to help reduce sweating.

This healthy diet should especially consist of fruit and herbs, such as basil and sage.

3. Regularly Wash Your Face

Keeping your face washed and clean is a great way to help reduce excessive facial sweating. Be sure that when your face is washed, you use cold and clean water. Be sure also to dry your face with a clean towel or small dry wash cloth.

4. Reduce Stress and Anxiety

Practice some sort of meditation or yoga to reduce your stress. Stress and anxiety are a large factor in hyperhidrosis. Learning yoga and meditation techniques will help center your inner energy and level out your stress and body temperature, thus reducing excessive sweating.

5. Get a Short Hair Cut

Allow more air to get to your head by having a shorter hair cut. This will allow air flow through your hair and onto your head, which could help to reduce excessive face and head sweating by helping to cool your body.

Surgery can also be used, but should only be considered as a last resort.
