4 Most Effective Ways to Remove Acne

Acne can be a very big problem for many, especially those in their teen years or those with hormonal changes in their bodies. There are many ways to get rid of acne and the only requirement is to handle it with care. Removing acne can be easy if you know the proper care and treatment.

Pimples are actually filled with germs and bacteria. This is why the skin swells with a pus-like substance produced in it. So, when dealing with acne, always remember to keep your hands very clean. Before touching, squeezing or pricking at it, always make sure that your hands are washed properly, especially in the areas under the nails.

1. Squeezing the Acne

When there is really a need to squeeze, do so with caution and care. However, take note that only a dermatologist should squeeze acne, and if you must squeeze your own, make sure you properly know how to do it. If done the wrong way, it could leave a scar and bring about other unpleasant side effects. Wait until the acne is mature enough; which means it is fully developed on the surface and the white area on the center is nearly bursting. Once it is squeezed and it has burst, wipe the area with clean tissue. Make sure the liquid in it doesn’t spread into the other parts of the face. It will just be an opportunity for bacteria and germs to infect the other parts of the skin as well. Have your dermatologist show you how to perform this procedure.

2. Using an Ice Pack

If the acne is not mature enough, squeezing or pricking it can make it worse. So, the best thing to do is to apply an ice pack to it. Applying an ice pack to the acne for about two minutes, repeating it every 30 minutes, will minimize swelling and redness. Thus, the acne can become quite invisible and may do well with concealer or make up on it for the time being.

3. Applying a Warm Treatment

If the acne is on the verge of maturity but isn’t quite yet, give it a warm treatment by dipping a gauze pad in a mixture of ¼ tsp. salt and ½ cup water. Place the cloth over the pimple for several minutes. The heat will soften the skin and will cause the liquids to rise, speeding up its maturity. The pimple may only be squeezed if the white area is nearly bursting. If not, continue applying warm cloth to it.

4. Using Anti-Bacterial Ointments

Anti Bacterial ointments work on acne that has already burst and those that are still swelling. An ointment with about 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide in it works as a topical solution and a healing agent. This dries out the area, getting rid of acne.

The foundation of having clear skin is having a clean skin. Washing the face 2-3 times a day is the key to a clear skin. Perhaps a zit or two may pop out once in awhile even with a clean skin, but a breakout of acne can be prevented by this. These quick remedies for acne are only for such times, and should not be in practice in your daily routine.
